Opportunities for retreats, mission trips, and fellowship.

Middle School Weekend 2020

In lieu of our usual Middle School Retreat, all 6th through 8th grade youth are invited to a weekend of fun around town! On October 16 & 17, we will plan a series of events to safely get outside, have some dang fun, and be together. This is not an overnight event. We’ll have an activity Friday evening on the 16, and have activities the afternoon of the 17. More details to follow. Cost is $60 and you can register at that big giant orange button below.

*October weather can be tricky, given our desire to be safe outdoors, weather could impact our plans. We will communicate as quickly as possible should anything change.

Summer Mission Trip

Reach Beyond Mission

Reach Beyond Mission is the middle school mission trip for FUMC youth that have completed 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The trip provides an opportunity for youth to learn about urban challenges such as poverty and housing while also serving within the community.

As followers of Jesus we are called to feed the hungry. Many churches work diligently reaching out to their communities, yet more than 15% of American households experience food insecurity at some point in any given year. One in five American children are hungry. How can we go beyond charity and work to end hunger?

Join us Summer 2020 for our annual Middle School service trip. This year we’ll be headed to Albuquerque, NM for a week of learning and serving. Please note two additional days of travel have been added to the trip (different from previous years.) Cost is $350+additional fundraising.

Connect for Tweens

Due to COVID-19, Connect for Tweens is taking a break. Stay tuned for future events.

All 5th, 6th, and 7th graders are invited to Connect, a program just for Tweens! We cook dinner together, play games, and talk about pre-teen life.

Connect bridges First UMC’s children and youth ministries through building relationships, serving, and helping youth connect with one another and with God during the transitional pre-teen years. Connect meets three Fridays each semester from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Drop-off and pick-up will be at the FLC. For more information, contact devon@fumcaustin.org.
