Middle School

Opportunities for retreats, mission trips, and fellowship.

Connect for Tweens

All 5th, 6th, and 7th graders are invited to Connect, a program just for Tweens! We cook dinner together, play games, and talk about pre-teen life.

Connect bridges First UMC’s children and youth ministries through building relationships, serving, and helping youth connect with one another and with God during the transitional pre-teen years. Connect meets three Fridays each semester from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Drop-off and pick-up will be at the FLC. For more information, contact

Middle School Fall Retreat

Fall Retreat at Mo-Ranch

We are joining up with University United Methodist Church for our annual fall Middle School Retreat October 18-20. This year we are headed to the beautiful Mo-Ranch for a weekend of adventure, fun, and faith formation! Registration is $145 and includes meals at Mo Ranch, activities, a t-shirt, and transport. We will stop for dinner in Fredericksburg on the way. Students may either bring a dinner or dinner money for when we stop. Spaces are limited.

Summer Mission Trip

Reach Beyond Mission

Reach Beyond Mission is the middle school mission trip for FUMC youth that have completed 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The trip provides an opportunity for youth to learn about urban challenges such as poverty and housing while also serving within the community.

As followers of Jesus we are called to feed the hungry. Many churches work diligently reaching out to their communities, yet more than 15% of American households experience food insecurity at some point in any given year. One in five American children are hungry. How can we go beyond charity and work to end hunger?

Join us Summer 2020 for our annual Middle School service trip. This year we’ll be headed to Albuquerque, NM for a week of learning and serving. Please note two additional days of travel have been added to the trip (different from previous years.) Cost is $350+additional fundraising.
