Circles
Multiple circles at various meeting times
Three different circles (subgroups) meet monthly, at various days and times. Visitors are always welcome. These UMW circles are open to any woman interested in learning about and participating in the global mission of the church through United Methodist Women. Each circle has a different focus but all three emphasize study and service. Contact the circle chair for more information or Sandy Wilder, unit president, at swilder@texas.net or 512-773-8078.

Circle Up United Methodist Women are women of faith on a mission to improve maternal and infant health in Texas through public policy, advocacy and awareness. Since the 1800’s, healthcare for women and children on a global level has been a key advocacy issue for United Methodist Women. From hosting community events to raise awareness about the issue to partnering with legislators and mobilizing support for bills that improve the health of moms and babies, Circle Up is making a difference! We meet once a month and are always excited to draw the circle wider and welcome new members. Join us November 15, 2020 for an Interfaith Summit on Maternal Health featuring advocacy training, coalition building and a panel discussion.
Joy Circle
3rd Thursday, 10:00AM, meeting at a member’s home
Contact: Elizabeth Lerner
The JOY Circle is a group of mostly retired women who meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10:00AM. We engage in a variety of studies including book studies, UWF (United Women in Faith) Mission Studies, and discussion of various topics of interest. Some of the topics we have covered in the past were about the Roma of Europe, Immigration, Climate Change, Public Education and Sex Trafficking.
We are very involved with social justice issues such as attending the annual UWF Legislative event in January hosted by Texas Impact, delivering supplies and donations to the missions doing work along the Texas/Mexico border and organizing a church-wide children’s underwear and sock drive in August for Southside Community Center, a UWF outreach center, and local AISD elementary schools.
Foremost, we pray and support one another through our personal, daily prayers and activities. We would love for any woman to join us and be a part of this amazing group.
