Stay up-to-date on our latest events
Following mandates of local Austin officials and in an effort to reduce the spread of covid, all in-person programming and in-person worship currently have been reformatted for online participation only. To get connected with our Children’s Ministry, please contact Lara Greene, Director of Children’s Ministry at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sunday before School Starts
During worship, all students, teachers, and administrators will receive a blessing and a gift as a tangible reminder of God’s and our congregation’s love and support. Students are encouraged to bring their backpacks. Parents should plan to take children to their new Sunday School classrooms and then join us in Wesley Hall for a parent coffee. Then that evening, join us at the pool party!
Monthly During School Year
Once a month, it’s Kids’ Night Out —pizza and a movie for the kids and date night for parents! While parents enjoy an evening out, children play, eat pizza, and watch a movie with our trained childcare staff. We accept infants through 1st graders.
Saturday before Easter
Cancelled in 2020/2021 Due to COVID
FUMC hosts an annual Easter Egg Festival on the Capitol Grounds at Colorado and 12th Street. This event is open to the public, so you may bring your friends and non-perishable food donations for Caritas of Austin. Join us on the Capitol lawn for face painting, crafts, games, preschool egg hunts, and elementary school egg roll races! A visit from the Easter Bunny is a special tradition.
Studying Scripture is one of the most important ways we learn about God. FUMC presents personal Bibles to each third grade student as a statement of their growing faith development and as recognition of their being old enough to study Scripture on their own.
