Mobile Loaves & Fishes
“Everything we do is about relationships. The biggest lesson we have learned over the years is that we are not a food ministry. We merely use food as a conduit to connect human to human and heart to heart.” —Alan Graham, Founder & CEO of Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF)
MLF’s work to build relationships with Austin’s most vulnerable starts small—with a sandwich and a conversation with a food truck volunteer—because MLF believes that knowing our neighbors also leads to greater understanding and systemic change.
MLF trucks provide food, clothing, hygiene products, and other life-sustaining items to our homeless and working poor neighbors. The downtown Austin truck is based at First Church and is needed more than ever. Each year, our MLF truck provides more than 20,000 meals with the help of more than 300 dedicated volunteers. That’s a lot of sandwiches and conversations!
