Decorating and Holiday Stroll Volunteers
Saturday, December 7, 4:00 p.m.
SAN Wesley Hall
Kick off your holiday by decorating spaces around the church and then offer hospitality to Austinites of all ages heading to and coming from the tree lighting at the Capitol!
The fun begins at 4:00 p.m. in Wesley Hall and proceeds to decorating the Sanctuary, Chapel, Family Life Center, and outdoor spaces (outdoor is for the stroll). After the decorating, volunteers will share a meal and then have the opportunity to help Austin discover FUMC and to make us home for the holidays at the annual Austin Holiday Stroll.
Austin rings in the Christmas season with a sing-along and Christmas Tree lighting at the Capitol, followed by a stroll down Congress Avenue for booth visiting, music, and general holiday cheer. FUMC greets event attendees with hot chocolate and cookies and a family-friendly restroom stop. Be part of this hospitality team that chats with visitors, serves drinks, bakes cookies, sets up, and tears down.
Shifts run between 4:00 and 9:00 p.m.
