Please read the Special Statement from Bishop Dorff, about ways to assist with flood relief in our Rio Texas Conference areas.
Ways to Volunteer and Assist:
Pray for those who have lost family members, homes and livelihoods. Pray for those who are already offering assistance.
Make a donation to the Rio Texas Conference Disaster Relief Fund
These funds will be spent to aid directly the victims of the floods and storms in the Rio Texas Conference.
Designate a gift for flood relief efforts via our secure FUMC online giving portal (Give through “Other Contributions and type “flood assistance” in the long box of the form for notes).
Pack Flood Buckets
We will need more flood buckets, and we will need to resupply our warehouse with flood buckets for the future. These supplies enable people to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a flood or hurricane.
Cleaning Bucket Value: $65 per bucket
Completed buckets may be brought to First UMC. Please contact Pastor Cathy at firstname.lastname@example.org or 512-478-5684 for more information or to help with collection and delivery.
You can download assembly directions here.
Volunteer for tasks organized by Austin Disaster Relief Network
The Austin Disaster Relief Network is comprised of churches, ministries and businesses within the Christian community of Greater Austin to form a disaster relief alliance to help those in need in times of disaster.
