UUMC Lunch & Learn: Props B and F
April 18 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
University UMC is hosting a program led by Central Texas Interfaith on the City of Austin props B and F. Both of these propositions are on the upcoming ballot. Early voting begins Monday, April 19.
Proposition B is an ordinance that would create a criminal offense and a penalty for anyone sitting or lying down on a public sidewalk or sleeping outdoors in and near the Downtown area and the area around the University of Texas campus. It would also create a criminal offense and penalty for solicitation deemed aggressive in a public area, and make camping in a public area a criminal offense, punished by penalties.
Proposition F would amend the city charter to change the form of city government from ‘council-manager’ to ‘strong mayor-council,’ which will eliminate the position of professional city manager and designate an elected mayor as the chief administrative and executive officer of the city.
