Understanding Transgender: A Primer for Families and Allies

United Women in Faith: Understanding Transgender, A Primer for Families and Allies

Sunday, October 9 | 12:15-2:00PM | SAN Wesley Hall
The transgender community is incredibly diverse. If you want to understand more about what it means to be trans, if you know and love someone who is trans, or if you want to learn how to better show support for this community of people who have been politically targeted, join United Women in Faith for this presentation. First Church’s own Janet Duke, founder and board chair of the Strong Family Alliance, a nonprofit that works to save lives and preserve families by helping children come out and parents become informed supporters and allies, will be our speaker. All women of faith are invited to this gathering, where we will also get an update on what the three FUMC circles are doing. Lunch is provided for those who register at fumcaustin.org/UMF by October 2.
