This MLK Day weekend, our youth and our Mercy & Justice Team invite you to a special screening of Rustin, a 2023 biopic, that tells the story of Bayard Rustin, the key organizer of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, an event that is considered one of the high points of the Civil Rights movement. A committed and charismatic leader, Rustin faced homophobia and his role in the March on Washington has long been sidelined. Rediscover this hidden hero of the Civil Rights movement in community as we screen the PG-13-rated movie together and host a discussion following the film. Pizza and snacks provided. For more information, email Pastor Cathy Stone.
