Sunday, September 22 | 6:00-8:30PM | FLC Garrison Chapel
FEAST is about sharing stories while sharing meals. Once a month, we come together to wrestle with a complicated issue facing modern Christians while we eat, pray, and enjoy one another’s company. This month, we will be joined remotely by Rev. Dr. John Fanestil, author of American Heresy: The Roots and Reach of White Christian Nationalism. We will talk about the complex legacy of America’s founding principles, demonstrating how the very same values have produced both good fruit and the bitter harvest of white Christian nationalism. FEAST is hosting this important conversation and invites anyone to participate, so join Pastor Melissa Spence and the FEAST community to engage in this illuminating and pertinent conversation. Dinner is provided for those who register at fumcaustin.org/feast-american-heresy by Saturday, September 21. You do not need to have read the book but, if you have not, please join us at 6:00PM for a 20 minute video overview. The conversation starts at 7:00PM.
