June 18 - June 29
WHAT IS APPALACHIA SERVICE PROJECT?
Appalachia Service Project, or ASP, is FUMC’s high school summer mission trip. Each year a team of youth and adults travel to the Appalachian Mountains to spend a week in service building wheelchair ramps, fixing roofs, and building relationships. Through our participation with ASP, our high school youth are helping eradicate substandard housing in Appalachia.
Please contact Devon Bailey at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information about this trip.

For over forty years, FUMC Austin has been sending youth and adults to Appalachia to build relationships and repair homes to make them warmer, safer, and drier. This is done through our partnership with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP).
Last year, ASP was unable to host volunteers due to COVID-19, and our church was unable to participate. This year, with an increased need, we have created a plan to safely return to ASP June 18-29.
In order to keep costs manageable for our more than forty youth and adult team leaders, we are asking for your help in raising a total of $25,000. This service trip is one of the backbones of our youth ministry, providing opportunities to teach service and sensitivity in an environment which is away from home and sometimes beyond our comfort zone. ASP helps us to build stronger relationships with each other, and with the Appalachian communities we serve. These opportunities could not happen without the generosity and support of our FUMC family. We thank you for your contribution.
