FUMC Parking Lot
The season of Advent begins Sunday, November 29. This year’s Kickoff will be a parking lot event. Members will have the opportunity to bring their sleeping bag and blanket donations, pick up Christmas Eve candles, Advent-at-home luminaria kits, and devotionals, and take a turn assembling manna bags and gift bags for our Christmas Eve Brunch community. Blankets and sleeping bags are being collected as part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness month. They can be purchased from our Amazon wish list and shipped or dropped off at the event. Adult sleeping bags and twin/XL twin fleece blankets are preferred. All members are also invited to sign up prior to the event for a time slot during the event to assemble manna and gift bags. Time slots are one per household to maintain social distancing. Masks are required for all participants.
If you are picking up Advent materials only, there is no need to register. Registration is only requested for those assembling manna bags.
Candles, luminaria kits, and devotionals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 100 households.
