Kids love dinosaurs, animals and insects, monsters, fairytale, adventure, mystery, sports, and exploration books. Only current titles or popular classics please. Spanish language books especially appreciated.
Donations of books can be left in SAN Room 217 behind Library, or in bins off the Sanctuary Foyer. Consider donating gift cards from Savers.

About Pickle Book Drive
For the past 12 years, our generous readers have donated more than 20,000 new and gently used books to support literacy at J. J. Pickle Elementary School. Pickle is named after former FUMC member, Congressman J.J. “Jake” Pickle and is a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) school and community center located in the St. John’s neighborhood in northeast Austin. Most of the Pickle students cannot afford extensive home libraries and rely on discount or free books. Research has shown that simply getting books in the hands of kids may be as effective as summer school — and a lot cheaper.
