v Her childhood home, as well as mine, was in iconic South Austin, zip 78704. As we shared stories of knowing some of the same good South Austin folks, we began narrowing down our neighborhoods. She grew up at the corner of Treadwell and Jessie Street. My childhood home was two blocks away on Jessie Street as well. At that point, we realized we knew each other’s folks. However, we did not recall knowing each other as Conneen was older and had left home to be on her own. What a small world as we acknowledged a strong connection other than being member of FUMC.

As time went on, Conneen and I grew closer and she shared family issues with me. She took a down-turn in health and had to sell her home moving near her son in Hutto. Throughout all health issues and family troubles, she survived as a stronger person of whom I am extremely proud. Our love and respect for each other have blossomed throughout the years, and I am so very fortunate to have her as my dear friend. She remains a sweetheart lady with a Christian heart of gold. She is a blessing in my life and I dearly love her.
