Join us for the 2017 Austin Pride Interfaith CELEBRATION on Tuesday, August 22, at 7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Austin, 1201 Lavaca St, Austin, Texas 78701.
Pride Interfaith Partnership and First UMC are proudly sponsoring the 2017 Pride Interfaith CELEBRATION, with help from supporting communities. Join us as we celebrate a diversity of religious beliefs and affirm that all people, including LGBTQ and allies, are created with sacred worth. This annual event is a decades-long tradition in Austin, and this year’s theme is “Love Beyond Borders.” The Pride Interfaith CELEBRATION will offer a safe and centering space with an opening processional of local faith leaders, powerful speakers, inspiring music from the volunteer CELEBRATION Choir, and original choreography from the new CELEBRATION Dance Team. There will be a reception with light snacks immediately following. For more details, click here.
Everyone is invited to attend, including those who are not affiliated with a faith community. ASL translation will be provided during the service. Greeters will be available to direct anyone in need of disability access. Security personnel will be on duty during the event and reception.
Pride Interfaith CELEBRATION 2017 will be back on Tuesday, August 22 with our CELEBRATION Choir, which is open to all interested singers, no experience necessary! Join us for practices at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights in the FUMC choir room on July 18 through August 21. Contact CELEBRATION choir director Karl Logue for details: firstname.lastname@example.org.
