Things I Love About My Church
“I am grateful for the adults @ FUMC who love, accept, and support my children. The Sunday School teachers, ASP leaders, youth leaders, and catechism leaders invest their time and surround my children (new adults) to ensure that they know God and others love them.”
“I love that this church is so welcoming of LGBT people like me. I feel like I have so much support here & outside of church from the people here. I love that this church is so supportive of the arts. It allows me a chance to share my gifts. I also love that this church is not just what happens on Sunday morning. It does outreach to the homeless and does the Appalachian project. I am impressed with everything that happens here.”

“Our music program. This is the first reason I joined FUMC. The supportive people. Through joys, illness, commitments – Most of ALL FRIENDSHIPS!”
“There are so many classes, programs, and events for every member of the church. I love that we embrace all. The people are awesome – clergy and parishioners. It is a safe place to cry when you need to.”
“I am grateful for the diversity of this congregation. For my children to be exposed to this diversity in backgrounds, economics, and beliefs.”
“The message of God’s grace – welcoming and liberating – and the ways we live it out in mercy, justice, discipleship, worship, and acceptance. We teach a faith that engages mind and heart. We explore questions instead of settling for shallow answers.”
