• New sand in
the sandbox
Volunteers Report: Kathy spoke to the following
• Low volunteer sign up this year, perhaps
due to the larger percentage of siblings and only 91 total families
• Room representative orientation September
14th, including new procedure to request money at the start of the year for
birthday and end of school gifts but that Christmas gifts be from individuals
either as a gift to the teacher or towards the “teacher bonus pool”
Hospitality Report: Celeste spoke to the following:

Georgia’s father passed away and asked if we should send a note from the FUMP
board
§ Decided before we do
something like this for other teachers that a policy be in place to ensure
uniformity

Ms.
Elaine is doing alright but coming back as storyteller part-time

Publicity Report: Heather spoke to the following:

Tree
fundraiser will use the metaphor of fall to measure progress. When a family donates, a leaf with the
amount will fall to the ground. There
are 91 leaves and the goal is that they all are on the ground

Special Projects Report: Trish spoke to the following:
• Book fair is
coming up before the next meeting
• Will talk to
Scholastics about sending top quality materials
• Will ask Ms.
Ellen’s and Ms. Erin’s class to make snowflakes as decorations
New Business
Sandy spoke to the
following:
•
A
records subpoena for a previous child and teacher has been issued to FUMP. The school will cooperate fully but will
need to obtain a lawyer as representation of FUMP. The cost would be $1,000 for lawyer fees.
•
Cindy
motioned that we pay the $1,000 for lawyer fees out of the budget, motion was 2nd
by Kathy. Motion passed.
