FUMP Board Meeting Minutes: October 8, 2007

 

Members Present: Heather Schuelke, Celeste Hubert, Martha Williams, Ellen Muira, Veronica Divine, Darcy Hamre, Cindy Roberts, Renae Alsobrook, Kristin Keener, Andy Greene, Trish Parker and Kerry Ugarte

Members Absent: Kathy Carr

Non-Voting Members Present: Sandy Pennington and Paula Steirnberg

Ellen called the meeting to order at 6:35pm

 

Old Business

Review of September Minutes

            •       Andy motioned to pass the minutes, Celeste 2nd the motion:  Motion passed

 

Director’s Report:  Sandy spoke to the following:

            •            Annual Fund so far is $9,835.00 - excellent!

            •       Thank you to Trish and Cindy for a great Book Fair

            •             Creation of a Finance Committee

            •            Accrediation letter for review and edits.  Timeline to distribute is hopefully in November

 

Finance Report:  Kerry spoke to the following:

            •            Annual Fund is more than expected in the budget

            •       Sally Foster is below what was expected in the budget

            •       Kerry motioned to give $250 per classroom for allocations

                    •            Andy 2nd the motion.  Motion passed

 

Equipment Report: No report

Volunteers Report: No report

Hospitality Report: Celeste spoke to the following:

•          Christmas Party for Staff, Board Members and significant others will be checking into location and dates

           

Personnel Report: No report

Publicity Report: No report

 

Chapel Report: Paula spoke to the following:

            •       3-11 year olds invited to sing this coming Sunday in the Sanctuary

            •       Fall Fest is Oct 28th from Noon-2:30pm Family Activity Center

           

Special Projects Report: Kristin spoke to the following:

            •       Sally Foster will be delivered soon

            •       Total for Sally Foster so far is $3,287

            •       59% of families participated in Sally Foster and it ran smoothly

            •            Heather plans to put something in the Beacon about Sally Foster
                    being available online

            •       Trish spoke of how we surpassed our mark for this year’s         Book Fair: $3,617.95.

                    •   A total of 87 books donated to teachers

                    •  30% profit -- a 48% increase in sales from 2 years back

                    •            Scholastic donated $100 to the book raffle

                    •            October 9-10, 2008 for next year’s Book Fair

 

New Business

 

Ellen spoke to the following:

•          Set up of a Finance Committee; by-laws state that we need a Treasurer Elect

•          Andy motioned that we waive the requirement to have a Treasurer Elect from this Finance Committee

·   2nd by Celeste

·   Motion passed

•          Andy and Heather will serve on the Finance Committee as well as Sandy, Ellen and Kerry.
