Ellen called the meeting to order at 6:43pm

 

Old Business

Review of March Minutes

•     Celeste motioned to pass the minutes, Andy 2nd the motion.  Motion passed

           

Director’s Report:  Sandy spoke to the following (handout provided):

            •            Enrollment up from last year and  it’s complete

            •            Evaluations coming soon and will be done through the internet

            •            Recommendation for Mission Statement Change

            •     Water table is complete and the children love it. Big thank you to Renae, Heather, Brooks & Andy for the work they did.

            •     By next year’s in-service, we should have FUMP standards complete

            •     Sandy opened for questions:

                  -             Renae had question about evaluations:  should we contact families that have left FUMP and ask them to complete the evaluation or input of how we can improve. Andy and Paula suggested maybe instead we ask the families that will not be coming back to FUMP next year to complete the evaluation.

 

Finance Report:  Kerry spoke to the following:

            •     Special handout. Described that we’re on track. We look fine but we need to be careful about teachers salary and tuition

            •     Kerry and Sandy will have conversation with Jim about budget entries

 

Equipment Report: Renae spoke to the following: 

            •            Playground update: Water table is complete! Thank you again for Brooks and Andy for their help

 

Volunteers Report: No report

 

Hospitality Report: Celeste spoke to the following

            •            Staff/Board luncheon reminder with childcare provided

            •            Reminder to reserve Family Center in case of rain on picnics

            •     Asked the Board if we want the children to paint tiles at the picnic?  We might have a musician at the picnic

            •            Mother’s Day reception May 7th for the graduating class after Chapel

           

Personnel Report: No report

Publicity Report: No report

 

Chapel Report: Paula spoke to the following:

            •             “Loving Others” and “Sharing” are the latest lessons in Chapel

            •             Mother’s Day Service invites will be going out

            •     VBS sign up

            •             Considering offering small VBS during Christmas Break and Spring Break for next year

 

Special Projects Report:  Kristen reported to the following:  Taste test in May for the Cookie Dough (Sally Foster fundraiser)

           

New Business

Ellen spoke to the following:   Summer Board Meeting Date set for August 18, 2008 at 6:30pm

Sandy spoke to the following:

·         Announced that she has been doing training sessions for various schools on different topics as a side venture (and it’s doing very well and has not interfered with her obligations at FUMP whatsoever).  She wanted the Board to be aware of what she was doing.
