Recovery Ministry Objectives:
- Connect people and their families struggling with addiction with the appropriate resources.
- Be a visible point of contact for FUMC members on alcohol, drug and other addiction issues.
- Facilitate resources for 12-step meetings in FUMC and to build bridges between the FUMC community and the 12-step community.
- Help breakdown barriers to communication between people who suffer from addictions and their families.
- Provide hope by sharing our personal stories in appropriate settings.
- Provide education on addiction and recovery issues to Recovery Team members and other interested persons.
- Teach prevention strategies and skills in spotting the signs of addition.
- Coordinate with clergy and staff in opening a frank honest dialogue in FUMC about alcohol, drug, and other addiction issues and how they are affecting our members, our church, our families, and our community.
