The Emergency Assistance Fund enables our Care Coordinator and clergy to provide emergency assistance each week. This fund is able to provide assistance to individuals and families in crisis due to poverty, domestic violence, unemployment, and/or homelessness.
Because of the generosity of this congregation, our Care Coordinator has been able to meet, talk, and walk alongside of people in need. Your giving has enabled us to: provide a few nights of safe shelter to a woman and her children when SafePlace was full; provide the opportunity for multiple individuals to take the Texas Food Handler test and receive a certificate needed to start a job; provide work boots and/or work pants, which are required to begin many jobs; assist with prescriptions, utilities, occasional rental assistance, and other needs that have made a true difference in the struggles of so many.
We need your help replenishing this fund for 2017. Gifts may be left at the communion rail, dropped in the offering plate anytime during November or mailed to or brought by the church office.
