News: Contemplative Worship at First Church

flowerAfter only one Sunday in the Family Life Center, our weekly Contemplative worship service moves to a new space, a bigger space! We had 21 people in chairs or on cushions on the floor. There was not room for one more chair. So we are
picking up and moving quickly! We will begin meeting in Room 212 of the Sanctuary Building today at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome!

We used this reading last week as an invitation to be still and quiet in the presence of God. It expresses our longing and need for God.

Lord, you have always been our truest home, the One in whom we are most fully ourselves.
From before our days began your heart has been our true home.
After our Heal our souls, God, in the places where we carry wounds.
Heal our souls, God, in the places where we do not trust who we are in you.
You moved the mountains into their places and spoke the world into being.
You set everything in place from beginning to end.
You have power to move things, including me.
In my heart of hearts I believe that only you are enough to set me right, to make me whole,
and to set me free to live fully and completely as the person you created me to be.
Amen. (From Psalm 90:1-2)

Our offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed 12-1 p.m. for lunch) and Sunday mornings, 8 to 11 a.m.
