News:Noticed Anything New Around the Church?
In December we had two new AED’s (Automated External Defibrillator) installed in our church. One is located in the foyer of Murchison Chapel, near the reception area, and the other is in the foyer of the Family Life Center, also near the reception area.
We are grateful to the generous contributors who made this a reality for First Church. Because of these AED’s, if someone is in cardiac arrest or appears to be, we will be able to respond appropriately until EMS arrives. The units are very easy to use, even without training. You will simply open the cabinet, remove the unit, and push the power button. A loud voice program will guide the user step-by-step on the actions to take, including audible instructions on how to perform CPR. These AED’s also have pediatric pads for use on children. Please notice and remember their location, they are clearly marked and feature a red HEART logo. The application of a defibrillator to a patient in cardiac arrest has been proven to increase the chances of survival by 40% over CPR alone. We also want you to be aware that the units are alarmed, so please do not touch unless it is a true emergency. If you have any questions about the units, you may contact Stephen Alexander at salexander@muldooninterests.com or 565-1038.
