February 26th
Our first Life in the City worship gathering was a wonderful success with over 300 in attendance. Our new contemporary music leader, Sarajane Dailey, directed not only fabulous singers from our own membership, but musicians and singers from all over this city, including the magnificent Capitol City Men’s Chorus and Helen Bravence, violinist with the Austin Symphony. The Reverend Jen Stuart brought a message of hope centered around the city, the New Jerusalem, described in the Book of Revelation. Our vision is to create a place of hope where everyone is welcomed and heard, named and claimed.
This year Life in the City will be exploring what it means to be a person of faith living in the heart of a vibrant city in the 21st century. We will pray. We will dance. We will sing songs your grandparents knew, songs your kids hear on the radio, and songs that speak to the deepest part of your heart.
On Sunday, February 26th, the Life in the City service at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary will be getting a little more funky with musical guests “Drumsistas” and more. The Reverend Jen Stuart will be preaching on “Spiritual, But Not Religious?” Join us! You will not want to miss it!!

Hi Jen and Sarajane,
I’d like to takt to you about potentially The Drumsistas playing at your service from time to time, The leader of our group, Sherry Gingras, is interested in it. We are a women’s African drum group and would love to get involved. I’ve been a member at FUMC for many years,
thanks!
