College Ministry
... A Place For You
At First United Methodist Church we strive to provide a nurturing environment that allows students to grow in their love toward God and each other. We seek to make Disciples for Christ by providing the students a home away from home where they are able to discover answers to many faith questions that are inevitable during this time of life. It doesn't matter if you go to UT, Texas State, Huston-Tillotson, ACC, or any of the other fine schools around the Austin area -- give us a try! We have many activities available for college students.
College Class, Family Life Center, Garrison Chapel (Room 100) Sundays, 12:15 p.m.
A community of students interested in developing friendships, growing in their faith, discussing current issues in a Christian context and helping others through service projects. This class meets at 12:15 p.m. for a free lunch, Bible Study, and fellowship. For more information, please contact Noble Doss at pappymoose@gmail.com or (512) 458-6513.
Mission-To-Mission
Every January, a team of college students and sponsors travels to the Rio Grande Valley for a housing ministry in Mission, Texas. We simultaneously engage in homebuilding and faithbuilding among our team and the families we serve. Planning for the trip begins in the fall. If you are interested in participating, please contact Kyle Toomire (see below).
God continues to bless this ministry in many wonderful ways. I hope you will take advantage of the opportunities to become involved in the life of First United Methodist Church, Austin.
