Once a month, our third, fourth and fifth graders assemble Manna Bags for the congregation to purchase and keep in their cars. The Manna Bags are a gift to a homeless person. They are filled with a nutritious meal (meat, fruit, health bar and a beverage), a new pair of socks, and a note asking for God’s blessing on the recipient.
These bags will be sold for $5 at a table outside the Chapel and Sanctuary before Sunday School (9:40-10:00 a.m.) and after (10:45-11:00 a.m.). When you buy a Manna Bag, you are not only helping a hungry person, you are also affirming our children in their effort to become part of the solution to hunger and homelessness.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction.”
Exodus 16:4 (New American Standard Bible)
