Overview

We have a diversified education program with both weekly and special learning experiences for all ages.

First Church Education Programs:

  • Sunday School - Our First Church family is a large one, and Sunday School offers everyone a special place to be. Sunday School is the place where people learn about the Christian faith in a loving, supportive environment.
  • Mind and Spirit - Mind and Spirit offers courses designed to encourage personal growth and a more disciplined spiritual life. Three semesters each year, offering a variety of classes, retreats, and special events. Other short-term classes are held throughout the year.
  • Adult Discipleship Classes - In that tradition, First Church studies offer participants the opportunity to grow in their faith and discipleship.
  • Walk to Emmaus - A United Methodist program that calls forth and renews Christian discipleship, The Walk to Emmaus is a three-day experience which takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle.
  • New Life Institute - The New Life Institute is a United Methodist pastoral counseling center offering private counseling and seminars on personal growth.

Our offices are open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed 12-1 p.m. for lunch) and Sunday mornings, 8 to 11 a.m.
