I was a member of the church when we put on Summer Musicals in Wesley Hall. Would something like that be a possibility with the new layout?

Jen...you're article certainly resonated with me! I remember taking my son to a birthday party when he was about 7...it was a GI Joe party and all the attendees received camo uniforms, pup tents, etc. You get the picture. How can you top that and why should you? In our family you got a big birthday party on your 5th birthday with your grandparents, family members and up to 5 friends. I read somewhere that you should have as many guests as years your child is. Makes sense and keeps it small, intimate. After his 5th birthday we would have sleepovers, cook outside...they made their own fun!

What a blessing these three women are in the lives of those who by chance or choice live on Austins streets. They recognize that it is as important to fill the hearts as it is to fill the stomachs of our brothers and sisters in need. God Bless them and their work. And bless to the many hands that make this possible.

Mark,
It's great to be reminded of the great new things that are going on. They are numerable and potentially signiicant! Hope this message has a broader distribution than this web site.

John, your Thanksgiving blog is beautiful. I can almost visualize your Granny Wright's table. A sight to behold, I am sure.
As I set at my computer this crisp Colorado morning, I am so thankful for my family and all the joys that come with these relationships. My 89 year old mother is a bit more frail but still managing our Colorado family farm. As I look outside Mom's kitchen window and view the harvested fields I am once again thankful for the abundance God bestows. But I can't help but feel sad for those who struggle with daily existence. I continue to pray that these people and their families will one day know the comfort of a warm bed and enough food to overcome the pangs of hunger.
My prayers will not only thank God for my blessings but for those who need our community efforts to know of God's love through gifts of support and love.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

That is beautiful. I have always loved Thanksgiving for it's purity. No presents, just family and friends gathering to feel the abundance of earthly gifts and voice our gratitude for things, people and feelings over the past year. Some day I hope to sit at a long table, headed by our Lord, and feel the love overflowing.

Thank you, John, for your reminder of the power of good memories.
