I undersand why there is not longer a communion service on Wednesdays at noon. However, could the church please entertain the idea of simply offering communion at noon. There doesn't have to be any singing or message, just a pastor there at noon to offer communion. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes at the most.

Also it doesn't have to be an "Ordained" pastor! I was stunned at the Methodist church when one Wednesday in communion we were told it had to be called something else other than "Communion" since the person giving it wasn't fully "Ordained" By the way, I've been Methodist for 59 years and I had never heard of something so silly.

Like the Catholic church, I find it sad when so many of our man-made doctrines have have totally missed the teachings of Jesus. Does the Methodist faith believe "Ordained" ministers give special power over a communion? How does the words spoken...."Do this in remembrence of me" mean more from an "Ordained" minister than when spoken by a group of people who love Christ and are gathered to honor, remember, and give thanks for his sacrifice? No wonder I hardly attend church but just send money, not because I'm Methodist but because I love the Lord.

Thanks for the report, Rev. Barbara. I have to miss the presentation on Sunday that I know will have more information on the proceedings, but I look forward to hearing/seeing the notes later. I hope others will be able to attend!

Hello, my name is Christina Maxi. I’m 20 years old, and I love the Lord. I am an American living in Haiti helping people survive and succeed. I am part of a Christian, Non-profit Organization called “Love & Hope for All”. We are located in Haiti, Port au Prince and we provide food, education and the Gospel of the Lord. I have in the past visited many churches and youth groups throughout America, and I would like to invite your church and youth on a life changing experience. I am coordinating a short term mission group to Haiti. My first mission trip changed my life and I became on fire for the Lord. I want everyone to experience that, especially the youth. If there is any possibility of interest of what I am doing, please don’t hesitate to ask for more information or email me. God bless!
I am available to set up meetings and provide more information if wanted. Thank you!

Be blessed:
Christina Maxi

Kathleen, I couldn't agree more. I am totally perplexed by the "the more people who carry guns, the safer we are" credo that seems so pervasive in our society. The lobbies for these entities are apparently strong enough to carry the day, no matter how many people are killed. I could stand on this soapbox and shout for a long time, but I fear it would bring no change for the better. Thank you for speaking out in such a meaningful way.
