Third Grade Bible Presentation

bible_presentation

Last Sunday, August 28th, we participated in a time-honored, beloved tradition of the United Methodist Church: the presentation of personal Bibles to our third grade class. The middle wrapping was comic strips, reminding the boys and girls that the Bible is filled with stories that are entertaining and fun. The inside wrapping was white paper, signifying the Bible as the inspired message from God, about … [Read more...]

Acolytes Needed for Worship Services

advent_acolyte

The word acolyte is derived from the Greek word acolytos, meaning companion, attendant, or helper. Our acolyte program is a wonderful way for the children of our church in third grade and up to actively participate in Sunday worship services. An acolyte serves at the altar of God, assisting the pastor, and helping everyone at church see the glory of God when they come to worship. The “Light of Christ” is brought in to worship by the acolyte and the “Light” is then taken out at the end of the service to signify taking the love of Christ back into the world. This form of … [Read more...]
