For the past seven years, our generous readers have donated thousands of books to support literacy at J. J. Pickle Elementary School which is located in the St. John’s neighborhood in northeast Austin. Last December, a little more than 1,700 books were sold to students, parents and teachers.
Our stash is low, so we could use your help. Our next sale is Friday, May 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. We are buying books in Spanish, but we could use donations of new or gently used pre-school and elementary-aged children’s books. We always have requests for the current bestseller/popular books, plus books with adventure, animals, dinosaurs, and scary books. Bring all gently used or new book donations to the Genesis classroom, located behind the “Library” in the Sanctuary Building.
In addition to book donations, we would appreciate volunteers to help us. To volunteer or for any questions, contact Heather Schuelke at firstname.lastname@example.org.
